Tools that make overuse visible and rest effortless, without locking you out of the phone you depend on.
Apply for beta →● Independent technology studio
Most apps are engineered to hold your attention. Ours are engineered to improve your day, then get out of the way. OlwenTech builds focused products for digital wellbeing, personal safety and everyday intelligence.
● Meet Ollie
Ollie is the O in OlwenTech. In forty seconds he shows what we build and why: safer roads, safer streets, and Restline, the app that breaks phone addiction.
Safety tools shown are concepts in development. Restline is in Android beta now.
01 What we build
We work where everyday technology lets people down most: the hours lost to screens, the walk home after dark, the problems AI promises to solve but rarely does, and games built to exploit players instead of entertaining them.
Tools that make overuse visible and rest effortless, without locking you out of the phone you depend on.
Apply for beta →Tools for the moments people feel least safe: travelling alone at night, crossing a busy road, waiting for someone who has not arrived.
Applied AI for physical, everyday problems like congestion, routing and the small logistics that cost people hours. Not another chatbot.
Games with a beginning and an end. Built to be finished and enjoyed, not to keep you playing out of habit.
02 Product
Screen-time limits are easy to dismiss. A screen that starts to look damaged is not. After a long stretch of unbroken use, faint lines appear on your display. Keep going and they multiply. Put the phone down and they fade on their own.
The app runs in the background and measures unbroken screen time, not your daily total.
After 30 minutes without a break, realistic green and pink lines surface. Every extra minute adds more.
Lock the screen for a few minutes and the lines clear by themselves. No buttons. No snooze.
03 Principles
Three commitments decide what we ship, what we refuse to ship and how we run the company. An idea that fails any one of them does not get built, however profitable it looks.
We measure success by the good a product does in someone's day. Revenue is the result of that work, never the reason for it.
Engagement can be bought with addictive design. We decline that trade. Every decision is tested against one question: does this leave the person better off?
We do not clone what already exists. We build what the world is missing, and we hold it to a standard we are proud to put our name on.
04 Careers
We look for people who notice what others miss: the extra tap, the confusing sentence, the user who quietly gave up. If you hold your work to that standard, we want to hear from you.
05 Journal
How we think about products, design and the people who use them.
Good ideas are cheap. Before anything gets built at OlwenTech, it has to survive three questions. Most ideas don't.
Notifications get swiped away. Timers get snoozed. So we designed a screen-time signal that works the way your brain already does.
App blockers promise control and deliver frustration. Here is the thinking behind a different approach to healthier screen time.
06 FAQ
Everything you need to know before you apply. Anything else, write to us and a person will reply.
Contact us →No. The lines are drawn by the app as a transparent layer on top of your display. Your hardware is never touched, and the lines disappear the moment you rest, pause the app or uninstall it.
Yes. Nothing is blocked. Every tap, swipe and app works exactly as before. The lines are a signal, not a lock.
They never trigger the lines. You can also exclude any app you need for work, study or accessibility.
A quick-settings tile shows that the lines come from the app and lets you pause them in one tap, so nobody mistakes them for a broken screen.
